ATP Madrid 1/32-Finals

De Minaur – Nadal: 27.04.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 2-3

Alex de Minaur has won three of his last five matches. The last match he played was in the 1/8-Finals of the ATP 500 Barcelona, where he lost against Fils in straight sets. Being an Australian, de Minaur played most of his career on the fast hard courts. However, he had some solid results on the clay as well. Last week in Barcelona, de Minaur won against Nadal in straight sets. He looked confident, and he also played smart. We have to admit though, that Nadal was nowhere near his best level. A week before that, de Minaur reached the quarterfinals in Monte Carlo where he lost against Djokovic in two tight sets.

Rafael Nadal said that this would be his last ATP Madrid tournament. He had already played in the first round against the 16-year-old Blanch. Nadal won convincingly 6-1 6-0. However, Nadal mentioned earlier this week that he is not 100% fit. He has played only 7 matches this season thus far, and has a 4-3 winning record. Last week in Barcelona, Nadal lost against de Minaur in the 1/16-Finals in straight sets. Unfortunately, Nadal does not look ready on the court, and we are not sure if he can handle the big players such as de Minaur.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, de Minaur is the slight favorite in this matchup. Last week, Nadal played well in the first set against de Minaur, and he lost that set despite playing well. After that, Nadal looked exhausted. We believe that de Minaur will win once again, just because he is in better shape than Nadal.

That being said, de Minaur winning is a value bet.

Miomir Kecmanovic has won three of his last five matches. The clay court surface is his least favorite surface. Last week, Kecmanovic lost in the 1/8-Finals of ATP 250 Bucharest against Martinez in three sets. Yesterday, Kecmanovic dominated against Zhang in straight sets. Kecmanovic has not have any remarkable results on the clay throughout his career so far. Last year, Kecmanovic played in the Estoril final where he lost against Ruud in straight sets.

Casper Ruud is one of the best clay court players at the moment. Last week, Casper Ruud won his first ATP 500 title in Barcelona. He won all of his matches in straight sets throughout the tournament. A week before that, Ruud reached the final in Monte Carlo where he lost against Tsitsipas in straight sets. Last year in Madrid, Ruud lost in the first round against the underdog Arnaldi in straight sets.

Best Bet to Make

Casper Ruud is in great form. He loves to play on clay, and we believe that he will continue his winning streak tonight. Kecmanovic did not have any remarkable results on the clay, and we believe that he will have big problems against Ruud tomorrow.

That being said, Ruud winning in straight sets is a value bet.
