ATP Munich quarterfinals

Fritz – Draper: 19.04.2024 11:00 CEST
H2H: 0-1

Taylor Fritz has lost three of his last five matches. However, he dominated in the 1/8-Finals in Munich against Moro Canas today. He is a typical American player who loves to play on fast surfaces. We have to say that he is nevertheless a solid clay court player as well. Last year in Munich, Fritz won against Fucsovics and Thiem in the first two rounds. He was stopped in the semifinal against Van De Zandschulp. He only played two clay court matches this season with an even 1-1 record.

Jack Draper has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Monte Carlo, Draper lost against Hurkacz as we predicted. Here, in Munich, Draper had an easy draw so far. He won in the first round against Kopriva in three tight sets. Yesterday, Draper won against Molleker in three sets again. Both of his opponents are challenger level players, and he still struggled against them. His best clay court result was last year in Lyon where he reached the quarterfinals. Other than that, Draper had no success whatsoever on the clay courts.

Best Bet to Make

Bookies are predicting this meeting as an even one. We believe that Taylor Fritz is a better clay court player with much more experience. He had a great first match in Munich, and we believe that he will have another great performance tomorrow as well.

That being said, Fritz winning is a value bet.

Auger-Aliassime – Struff: 19.04.2024 15:30 CEST
H2H: 2-1

Felix Auger-Aliassime won three out of the last five matches. He won his first round match against Marterer in three tight sets as we predicted. Auger is a great all-around player. He loves to play on fast surfaces because of his attacking playing style. However, he had some solid results on clay as well. Today, Auger-Aliassime won easily in straight sets. He served well, but still offered 4 breakpoints. It was cold and wet, so the surface was really slow.

Jan-Lennard Struff won his first match in Munich easily. He won against Van De Zandschulp in straight sets as we predicted. Struff had a solid tournament in Monte Carlo last week. He won against Baez and Coric in the first two rounds. Both of them are very solid clay court players. In the 1/8-Finals, Struff did not have any chance against Jannik Sinner. He is the 4th seed here in Munich. Struff also used to train in Munich, so you could say that this is his hometown.

Best Bet to Make

Both players are big hitters and great servers. We expect this match to be another tight match for Auger-Aliassime. They are both poor returners, so do not expect many breaks. We believe that they will win their service games easily, so we can expect at least one tiebreak. Even if not, we believe that they will play a long match with many games played.

That being said, over games is a value bet.
